Georgia

Georgia is located on the southern slope of the Greater Caucasus on the eastern coast of the Black Sea. Traces of ancient civilizations can be traced back to the 3rd-2nd millennium, with the hominin fossils found here being 1.8 million years old (Homo erectus georgicus).

The Greater Caucasus with several 5000 m high peaks crowns the country's territory in the north, the Lesser Caucasus in the south, in the east, next to the fertile vineyards and wheat fields, the Gareja semi-desert with typical vegetation unfolds, and in the west, the Black Sea invites you to a relaxing beach holiday. This diverse area of ​​the country is 69,700 km² (57,200 km² new figure).

Georgia's favorable location between Europe and Asia, at the crossroads of trade routes, has given rise to an exciting history and multi-ethnic culture in the country, with several peoples with their languages ​​and cultures living together here for centuries. The population is 3.7 million, the official language for all is Georgian, and the majority church is the Christian Orthodox Church of Georgia.
